The brief

Calm in colour. Character in texture.

Pebble's appeal comes from its surface rather than a busy pattern. Soft rounded forms create depth and make the rug distinctive both visually and to the touch.

For an accessible retail product, design, target cost and repeatability must work together. The cream colour, 130 × 190 cm dimensions, density and edge finishing formed the product specification against which samples and production could be assessed.

What JLM managed

Where JLM adds value

Texture must remain convincing in volume.

A strong sample only matters when the same appearance can be repeated in production. JLM connects the visual product choice to practical control points for manufacturing and final inspection.

  • Cream/off-white tone and surface used as visual references
  • Density and relief assessed for an even overall appearance
  • Edge finishing and dimensions included in quality control
  • Product, packaging and commercial positioning managed as one process

The result

An accessible retail product with its own texture.

With its neutral colour and distinctive pebble structure, the rug brought a recognisable yet versatile home product to Dutch retail. The case demonstrates how JLM connects product design, feasibility, target cost and quality assurance in India.
