Product brief
Translation of colour, size, pile structure, weight and edge finishing into a clear factory brief.

Case study · Home & living
The Pebble rug combines a calm cream colour with a tactile surface of small rounded forms. JLM supported the product journey for Dutch retail, from execution and supplier alignment to quality and retail introduction.

Retail reference · 130 × 190 cmThe brief
Pebble's appeal comes from its surface rather than a busy pattern. Soft rounded forms create depth and make the rug distinctive both visually and to the touch.
For an accessible retail product, design, target cost and repeatability must work together. The cream colour, 130 × 190 cm dimensions, density and edge finishing formed the product specification against which samples and production could be assessed.
What JLM managed
Translation of colour, size, pile structure, weight and edge finishing into a clear factory brief.
Assessment of production options, commercial feasibility and fit with the intended retail position.
Comparison of tone, softness, relief, density and overall appearance before production release.
Balancing a distinctive tactile appearance, repeatable quality and an accessible selling price.
Alignment of product presentation, protection and logistics efficiency for retail distribution.
Checks covering dimensions, colour consistency, structure, edges, finishing and packaging.
Relief gives a plain rug its own signatureWhere JLM adds value
A strong sample only matters when the same appearance can be repeated in production. JLM connects the visual product choice to practical control points for manufacturing and final inspection.
The result
With its neutral colour and distinctive pebble structure, the rug brought a recognisable yet versatile home product to Dutch retail. The case demonstrates how JLM connects product design, feasibility, target cost and quality assurance in India.
