Product brief
Translation of size, colour, weight, relief, fringe and hanging method into a clear factory brief.
Case study · Home & living
For a large wall hanging, texture, dimensions and finishing define the final appearance. JLM managed the process in India from product brief and sample to packaging, quality control and online retail launch.

The brief
JLM Sourcing managed the development of a large cream wall hanging for a European retailer. The design combines vertical textures, a rounded relief pattern and fringe with a wooden hanging bar.
Small differences are especially visible in a tone-on-tone design. Texture density, pattern symmetry, dimensions and finishing therefore had to be correct in the sample and repeatable throughout production.
What JLM managed
Translation of size, colour, weight, relief, fringe and hanging method into a clear factory brief.
Assessment of textile capability, capacity, export experience and suitability for retail requirements.
Checking texture, density, pattern proportions and finishing against the agreed reference.
Alignment of product and packaging documentation, including requirements for the wooden hanging bar.
Optimisation of carton dimensions and protection for international distribution and online sales.
Independent final inspection covering dimensions, appearance, finishing, packaging and agreed quality.
Texture, density and pattern define the final appearanceWhere JLM adds value
Textile production can show visible variation in density, tension or manual finishing. JLM connects visual assessment to measurable requirements and follows execution locally.
The result
JLM brought design, production, documentation, packaging and quality control together in one process. This enabled the retailer to introduce the wall hanging as an online assortment test with a clear quality level and one accountable contact towards India.
